Bangladesh Women’s Dota 2 team failed to secure their position on Global Esports Games 2022 in Istanbul. The women qualified for Asian regional qualifier but failed to head to the final destination in Istanbul LAN tournament.
The Bangladesh Dota 2 Women’s National Team had progressed to the stage of the Qualifiers PLAYOFFS Best-of-3 Double Eliminations for the Global Esports Games 2022 and faced Team Thailand on October 22nd. But unfortunately, they lost the match by 2-0. They had a second chance to qualify in a match against the loser of the match between Singapore and Malaysia. But they lost it too, by 2-0, and the team failed to secure their position at the Global Esports Games 2022 in Istanbul.
The Global Esports Federation and Bangladesh Youth Development and Electronic Sports Association (BYDESA) collaborated to host the Dota 2 women’s national team tryout for Bangladesh. The team faced Team Singapore and Team Sri Lanka in the South Asia group stage of Global Esports Games 2022, in hopes of making the playoffs.
Bangladesh National Dota 2 Women’s team is the first Bangladeshi women’s Dota 2 team that is participating in the International platform. As a newly formed team, they have come this far with a remarkable performance which is truly commendable.
It is also a milestone for the Bangladeshi esports scene that a Bangladeshi women’s roaster representing Bangladesh in an official tournament.
