The Covenant Esports is the champion of Dota 2 in 14th world Esports Championship 2022 south Asia Qualifier.
They beat Pakistan by 0-2.
The sad thing is despite performing outstanding they could not make it to the World Esports Championship, Bali. The main reason behind this situation is the rules of IESF. Despite being Unbeatable, The Covenant Esports fell behind Kazakhstan in various categories through the official rules of IESF and Kazakhstan was declared Asia qualifier, where the Asia qualifiers were not played.
After looking into different criteria the IESF selected Kazakhstan as a qualified team of Asia though Asia Qualifier isn’t taking place.
The Covenant Esports were outstanding all over the tournament and made it as a champion. There was a good rumor that they might qualify from Asia, but that didn’t happen in reality.
The same situation happened with the MLBB Champions Venom CR. They were the SA champion of IESF MLBB 2022 and couldn’t make it to the Bali for same rules issues.
IESF told that they will modify their rules and regulation in future.
